Hereford Community Farm is a welcoming inclusive environment where people feel valued and supported to self-manage their health and well-being. We offer innovative support to people with additional needs through a programme of Animal Assisted Interventions, Therapeutic Horticulture, and Equine Assisted Learning.
Our vision is to provide innovative, caring and supportive life experiences, work opportunities, and structured learning programmes for people of all ages and backgrounds who have specific difficulties and who would benefit from the therapeutic effects of working with animals, horticulture, and the environment.
The organisation has strong social, ethical, and environmental objectives and an ethos that
‘together we are stronger, working with the community and for the community’.
Activities on Offer
Using a ‘Green Care’ model of delivery HCF provides a variety of land-based supported activities which are designed, structured, and adapted to meet the needs of each individual facilitating them to participate fully in the activities of their choice.
Community Programmes
HCF works collaboratively with a wide range of community groups, voluntary and statutory sector organisations, and local businesses. Taking a holistic approach the organisation has developed in response to local needs and its strength lies within the community it serves as it continues to evolve and adapt.
The Future – The Ashley Farm Site, Grafton
To build capacity and develop the breadth of the Green Care model, HCF is leading a proposal to restore and repurpose a traditional Herefordshire farmstead of redundant buildings and 19 acres of land as a Community Asset Transfer.
